AIM
The aim of this module is to ensure that the security Supervisor have knowledge of basic principles of investigation.
1. LOCARD PRINCIPLE
The investigation of crime is a systematic search for the truth in accordance with scientific principles. One of these principles is the Locard Principle or contact theory. The Locard Principle is a scientifically founded principle, which plays an important role in crime investigation. According to this theory, traces are transfer red whenever two objects or persons come into contact with each other. This implies that a clue(s) in some form must be left at every scene of crime, through which the true facts can be exposed. When approaching a scene of crime this must be kept in mind and the approach must be that clues are left at every scene of crime. As these traces are often concealed at the scene of the crime the investigation officer must use all the aids to his disposal to discover them.
