PSIRA Grade E Patrol Officer
This Security Officer Training course is completed within 5 days. The purpose of Grade E training course is to ensure that new training security guards are introduced professionally in the Private Security Industry and enabling them to also know what is expected from them with regard to upholding the Law as Security guards.
PSIRA GRADE D ACCESS CONTROL Security Guard Training.
This course is also completed within 5 days. The main purpose of this course unit is to train Security guards on how to conduct Access Control at entrance points and to also ensure that they know and understand Grade D principles of physical Security works in conjunction with Security guards.
PSIRA Grade C Security Guard Training. –Protection Information Officer
The purpose of Grade C course is to ensure that Security guards are able to protect classified information of civilians and also know how to conduct Emergency situations in their presence and to save lives in their designated areas which can also enable them to assess risks and deal with them professionally. This is a 5 day course.
PSIRA Grade B Security Guard Training.- Supervision
This course unit improves security guards to an advance level of Supervision. Security guards are equipped with the knowledge of Supervision. This also helps them to, Handle Parades, Host and lower Flags and conduct On Job Training. It is completed within 5 days.
PSIRA Grade A Security Guard Training- Management
Grade A course is completed within 5 days. Grade A course helps security guards to know how to manage sites, gather evidence during accidents and incidents on sites under their management. This course also enables them to encourage the importance of inter action on sites and the benefit of it when it is implemented professionally.
NATIONAL KEY POINT TRAINING.
The purpose of the national key point training is to provide security guards with Security Officer Training that gets them to understand of the Nitygrity of protection of National Key Points. National key point places include electrical dams, museums, national parks, chemical plants, parliaments among others.
The major aim of this course is to ensure that national key point guards are kept refreshed with regard to their responsibilities of work they perform on sites. This course also empowers them with new knowledge for better service delivery which also includes Regulations.
RECOGNITION FOR PRIOR LEARNING.
This qualification makes recognition of prior learning possible through assessing of individual unit standards. This therefore may be achieved completely through the recognition of prior learning which includes informal formal and non-formal learning and work experience. The mechanism used provides learners with opportunities to demonstrate competences. Appropriate credits will be given to learners if they are able to demonstrate competences in skills, values and knowledge.

These are practices done by individuals to protect the safety of their communities.
Purposes of the general security standard units.
Writing security reports and taking statements.
This course unit is for relevant individuals to write and formulate security reports and to take down written statements.
Learners credited with this unit standard will be able to apply knowledge and understand the requirements of effective report writing, Compile a complete and concise report and also take written statements.
Operating effectively within a specified control room environment.
This course unit standard is for personnel to function competently within a specified control room environment.
Learners certified in this course unit standard will be able to prepare workstations for commencement of duty, Monitor and action emergency & non-emergency signals, deal effectively with relevant roles of players and conclude operations for effective handover.
Inspecting, driving and maintaining official vehicles.
This course unit standard is for people who make use of official vehicles in the execution of official duties.
Personnel credited with this unit standard will be able to operate an official vehicle communication equipment, Follow the correct procedure in the inspection of an official vehicle, Drive an official vehicle, Inspecting and maintaining of official vehicles before using them.
Handling and using of stopper-guns for operational purposes.
This course unit standard is for authorized and security personnel who use stopper-guns for crowd management purposes in terms of ethical considerations and relevant legislation’s.
Learners certified with this unit standard will be able to conduct maintenance of a stopper-gun, apply safety while handling a stopper-gun and its use.
