To be eligible to be certified as a security officer in south africa the applicant must these requirements , shall:
(a) Be a minimum of eighteen years age;
(b) Either be a us citizen or have in his or her possession a legitimate Immigration and Naturalization Service work permit; and
(c) Be ready to read, write.
(c) The applicant isn’t presently hooked in to drugs or alcohol;
(d) The applicant Must NOT BE affected by any debilitating mental disorder OR defect
(c) The applicant isn’t affected by serious heart condition , severe epilepsy, or other physical defect which could cause substantial loss of control in situations of severe stress.
A person who is in either of the subsequent categories shall not be eligible for certification as a security officer unless he or she meets the burden of proving to the Office of Administrative Hearings that he or she isn’t a big safety risk to the community and meets all other requirements for certification:
(1) an individual who has been released from incarceration for a felony conviction in any jurisdiction within the us within two (2) years before the date of filing an application for certification; or
(2) an individual who has been released from incarceration for a misdemeanor conviction in any jurisdiction within the us involving larceny or involving the illegal use.
(b) The provisions of this section don’t preclude a security company from imposing stricter standards or from requiring a extended period of ineligibility for a felony or misdemeanor.
